When we moved into our current house we were surprised to see how many mature citrus trees were in the backyard. We’ve got two naval orange trees, tangerines, lemons and limes. A few weeks ago I walked outside and really looked at them for the first time this winter and noticed each tree was filled with ripe citrus. I’ve been trying to use citrus in a lot of our recipes lately to not let them go to waste. I made this Lemon-Garlic Shrimp and Grits and have been using them in a lot of juice recipes like this Orange, Carrot and Beet Juice. Depending on the juice we make, we can use as many as 12 oranges in one day so having the trees really helps cut back on produce cost.
What are your favorite citrus recipes this winter?
